It feels a bit strange writing about myself, however I’ll have a go…

My story started in Moscow on January 25, 1974, the day I was born. From the very beginning it was clear that I would become a musician. My father was a talented amateur musician who played many musical instruments and my mother had an incredible voice and sang beautifully. When I was 5 years old my parents sent me to music school where I learned how to play the piano. Afterwards I enrolled in the Gnessins Musical College. I got expelled from the college twice, now I can't even remember why. I must have been a mischievous student. At that time I felt discouraged by my lack of prospects, so I abandoned music for a few years. I earned a living working in different places and I thought that I would never get back to music.

However, things changed for me in the spring of 1996 when I got acquainted with Russian producer Andrey Grozny. He needed an assistant at his studio and he offered me a job. At first, it was a bit hard for me to work there as I lacked any experience of working in a studio. However, I did my best to catch up with everything and very soon I was able to perform quite serious work. That period of my life was like a dream. I was carried away in the fast-moving river of challenging events. I collaborated with many Russian bands and musicians (such as Amega, Litsey, MF-3, BlestyashchieMusicola) as a record producer, keyboardist and a music director.

The new millennium started bringing significant changes into my life. The Amega broke up and I began collaborating with Zhanna Friske and Russian popular girl's band Blestyashchie as a permanent record producer. At the same time I began my career as a film score composer.

For Zhanna Friske I have produced such tracks as "La-La", "Gde-to Letom", "Ya Byla", "Portofino", "A na More Belyy Pesok", etc. My work with the Blestyashchie resulted in the tracks "Za Osenyu Pridet Zima", "Letala", "Au-Au", “Ya i Ty”, “Palmy Parami”, “Apelsinovaya Pesnya”, “Agent 007”, “Znaesh Milyy”, “Shar”, etc. As a film score composer I wrote cues for the films AFERA, S DNYOM ROZHDENIYA, LOLA! and for the TV series VIOLA TARAKANOVA and MENT V ZAKONE.

In 2004 after several intervals I graduated from the Gnessins Musical College, the Department “Choir Conducter”. A few years later I was invited there to give lectures on Modern Music Production. At present I work as a freelance record producer, mixer and sound engineer with various projects. Furthermore, I am working on my own project called KharutaProject in collaboration with the talented singer Inga Metti. We plan to release our debut album very soon. That’s about all at the moment, though the story is not finished…
